After much deliberation and playing all 3 McKinney courses yesterday we have decided to postpone the McKinney Doubles Championships. There are many reasons for this but it came down to the course conditions and rainfall expected throughout the weekend.
The Woods at Trinity has experienced extreme flooding leaving several fairways under stagnant water. Trees are down in and across fairways and the mud is slick as ice in some areas. Towne Lake has high grass almost everywhere as well as standing water and even more trees and limbs down across fairways.
In these conditions, with the courses flooding as they do, and rainfall expected to be close to an inch on Saturday we feel it is in everyone's best interest to postpone the event. Are they unplayable? No. Are they enjoyable? That depends on your attitude. Are they tournament ready? Absolutely not.
We do not have a date selected for the rescheduled event. It will likely be late in the year when our tour schedule has some availability. Meanwhile, all registered players will receive a full refund INCLUDING DGS AND PAYPAL FEES. This also includes participants who bought tickets to our digital raffle. Please be patient as it may take some time to process all of these refunds. They must be processed individually.

We would love to see you at our Alex Clark Flex Start Friday tomorrow! Alex Clark does not get quite as sloppy as the other 2 McKinney courses and we plan to be there rain or shine tomorrow. There is a $1000 ace pot in play for singles.
The McKinney Doubles Championships returns with added cash for pros and added merch payout for ams! This is an unsanctioned doubles tournament featuring 3 rounds over 2 days with a variety of doubles formats.
This is a true doubles event where teams will compete in a variety of doubles formats, not just best shot. Both players will need to bring their A game if they are to be crowned champion! Teams will play best shot, worst shot, alternating, and best score doubles!

We will have 2 player pools that will play different tees at Towne Lake and Trinity. Pools are currently TBD and will be determined by registration numbers
FORMATS
Best Shot
The team chooses which lie to play. Classic scramble golf.
Worst Shot
The team will play from whichever lie is determined to be the worst by the opposing team on the card. This can get nasty. Pro divisions, Advanced, and Am Masters will play true worst shot where both players have to make their putt.
Best Score
Each player completes the hole solo. The team then takes the better of the two results. Call in the carry.
Alternating
Teammates will alternate throws. Player A tees off. Player B throws the upshot. Player A attempts the putt. Some would argue the hardest form of partner golf.
DIVISIONS
Pro: The highest level. Payout will be in cash.
Pro Mixed: Teams with 1 male and 1 female player. Payout in cash.
Pro Masters: Teams 40+ years in age. Payout in cash.
Advanced: Upper level amateur players. Payout in merchandise credit.
Amateur Masters: Amateur Teams 40+ years in age. Payout is in merchandise credit.
Experienced: Mid-level players who are not new to disc golf. Payout is in merchandise credit.
Beginner: Brand new and less experienced players. Player Pack Only, NO PAYOUT but lower entry fee.
Amateur Mixed: Amateur teams with 1 male player and 1 female player. Payout is in merchandise credit.

PLAYER PACKS & CTP'S
Player packs are still being finalized. We expect to have custom event shirts and discs for all players as well as pins and stickers to commemorate the event. We will have a variety of CTP's in play for am teams only, including some division specific prizes! Pro players will also get a pin and sticker for playing.
PAYOUT
Payout will top heavy and awarded to the teams that finish in the top 3rd of each division. Pro divisions are playing for cash and ams will play for merchandise credit to The Disc Golf Dojo proshop. Awards and payout will be available as divisions finish thier final round at Alex Clark.
There will be $500 added to pro division and $500 added in merch payout for ams!
