WSU Team Challenge / Fundraiser
About this tournament
This is the first annual WSU Team Challenge Fundraiser Tournament! The Wichita State Disc Golf Club is raising funds to help support travel expenses for their trip to nationals in Rock Hill, SC on April 3rd-6th. They’ll be sending two teams to compete on the D2 and D3 levels. You’ll have the opportunity to support and compete against these WSU teams on March 30th at Clapp Park. Gather your teams of 4 and experience how college disc golf is played.
Round one will be a regular singles round. The scores are averaged and that becomes your team score. Round two will be played in the best-shot alternating doubles format. Teams will be paired into an odd pair and even pair. The odd pair tees off on odd-numbered holes, and the even pair tees off on even-numbered holes. After the tee shot, the pair that didn’t tee off picks which throw to play from, and they both throw from there. This process continues until the hole is complete.
Here’s an example of the team format played out: If a team starts on hole one, the odd pair would both tee off. The even pair would then pick the best shot, and both would throw from there. If one of the odd pair members makes the putt, then the score for the hole would be a 3.
