Queer Disc Golf x Throw Proud "Allied Voices" Series #1

Queer Disc Golf and Throw Proud are teaming up to host a series of tournaments celebrating inclusivity in disc golf! These events will be donating their proceeds to charities supporting the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and will remain unsanctioned so that players aren't restricted from playing competitively with their peers.

This event is supported by Great Lakes Disc. We will be offering 50% payout (through Great Lakes) and will be including one assorted player pack item (value 15-20 dollars). We will also have a number of fun prizes, raffle items and other giveaways.

A lot of the stress and division in the disc golf community has come from people never having played with (or known they were playing with) a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Our goal with this tournament series is to spread messages of support and inclusion, while giving people the opportunity to play with (and against) people they ordinarily might not get to. Too many bad things have been said and done, because when people don't have a frame of reference for something (such as what it's like to compete against a trans competitor), they can only react with their gut. This is totally understandable, but we feel it's important to give people the opportunity to build experience, and make a more informed decision on their stance - with eyes unclouded by fear. At the Allied Voices series, ALL players are welcome, so long as they treat everyone with the same dignity and respect that they would wish to be treated themselves.

This event will be hosted in support of the Outfront Center in Kalamazoo, which provides a variety of services for the community.

Refunds will be given to those that drop from the event AT LEAST 72 HRS BEFORE THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION. If you fail to withdraw before this time you will still be eligible to receive your players pack. Contact the TD for all related inquiries.
