About this tournament

This will be the 2nd year Disc Girls will be run as a women's team event. Teams are made up of four players each.

Teams may consist of:
1 player rated 875+ (or lower)
1 player rated 825-874 (or lower)
1 player rated 775-824 (or lower)
1 player rated 774 or under

(Or Lower)= If you don't want a higher rated player on your team that is fine. The guidelines above are so you cannot stack your teams. We want as many Amateur players involved as possible.

If a player on your team has never received a PDGA rating, they will be assigned a rating of 774. If a player on your team is not a current PDGA member, we will go with their last known rating with the PDGA. PDGA Ratings will be based off the May 14th update. (Please be fair if you have a player who is really good and has no rating, use them in a higher rating section)

Pros will be paid out in cash, Ams will be paid out in merch this year.

This event is modeled after the format used in the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships. Teams of 4 women will play two rounds of Team Doubles Play.

What is Team Doubles Play?

Doubles is played with two sets of teammates, one ODD, one EVEN. The ODD set will tee off on every odd-numbered hole, while the EVEN set tees off on every even-numbered hole. After the tee shots, the team chooses which of the two lies to play. From there, the set that did not tee throws their two shots. Again, the whole team decides which lie to play from and the set that teed off would throw. That alternating process continues until the hole is complete. On the next hole, the corresponding set of teammates according to the hole number, ODD or EVEN, would tee off no matter which set putted out on the previous hole. This format allows for each player to tee off the same amount of times and for teams to play as a whole. Each hole has two teams playing together as an eight-some.
