24th Annual Colonial Spring Pro/Am

Welcome to the 24th Annual Colonial Spring Pro/Am disc golf tournament and Killer B’s weekend. COVA disc golf club will be hosting the first day of the Killer Bs with a PDGA - B tier tournament at Bayville Farms Park with their 14th Annual Spring Pro/Am on Saturday April 17, 2021. Colonial Disc Golf Club will be hosting the second day with our PDGA – B tier tournament on Sunday April 18, 2021. Part of Killer B’s weekend is an overall trophy for the best combined scores from both tournaments. The ‘B’ hive has been getting bigger and we plan to expand the field size on Sunday by adding a second park. All Pro, MA1, MA40, MA50 divisions will play two rounds at Waller Mill Park in Williamsburg while all the remaining Amateur divisions will be playing two rounds at Newport News Park.

If you plan to compete for the overall trophy, you will want to register early for both tournaments. The field size will be limited to one park on Saturday with divisions caps. Each event has separate registrations and you can go to COVA’s registration here: https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/14th_Annual_Bayville_Spring_Pro_Am_2021. Payout is handled separately for each tournament and the overall Killer B trophies will be given out after the final round Sunday.

Players, staff, and volunteers are expected to follow the latest covid guidelines by the state of Virginia and the PDGA. If you are found in violation of these guidelines during the event, you may be disqualified for the tournament. There will be a waiver that must be signed during the registration process.


Course Assignments – Sunday April 18

Waller Mill Park – 10am start

Round 1 –

All divisions -- Long tees to Short baskets


Round 2 –

Pro/MA1 – Long tees to Long baskets

MA40, MA50 – Short tees to Long Baskets



Newport News Park – 10am start


Round 1 – All divisions short tees

Round 2 – All divisions long tees


SCHEDULE

Check in will begin at 9am at both parks. All tournament information for each park will be provided ahead of time and there will not be a player’s meeting at the park. Please verify your hole assignment with your course TD. Player’s packs will be available for pick up at check in. The courses will be open for practice until two minutes is called before the scheduled 10am start time. All players should be at their hole and ready at that time.

The second round is scheduled to begin approximately one hour after the last group’s scores are posted from the first round.


PLAYER’S PACKS

All Amateur division players will receive a player’s pack with a $30 retail value and part of the entry fee will be used for prizes for the top scores in each division.

PAYOUT

Pro division payout will be awarded online through Paypal or an alternate method as needed. Current added cash is at $1,000 and growing.
Amateur division payout will be based on the attendance in each division. Payout will be in the form of Colonial Bucks which can be redeemed at the club flymart and may be redeemed at a later date.

SCORING

Scoring will be live online through PDGA website. We will need at least one person in each group that can keep score through a mobile device. A backup scorecard such as the UDisc app or a paper scorecard is highly recommended in case of technical issues. All players are responsible for their own scores and everyone should verify them before being posted.
